PowerBI Load

With this load type, data can be written into existing datasets in Microsoft Power BI. Jedox PowerBI load uses the Power BI REST API and requires a Power BI Connector License and Power BI Connection.

Power BI has deprecated the creation of new "push datasets", meaning this functionality is no longer supported in Jedox. With this deprecation, "create" mode is now incompatible with current Power BI service standards, and attempting to use it could lead to unexpected data loss, especially for on-premises setups.

Users are advised to use "insert" or "update" load modes, which remain supported with existing datasets until 31.10.2027. These modes allow you to modify existing records (but not create new ones) in your Power BI datasets without risking deletion.

Settings

Data source Extract or transform containing the data to be written.
Tree format If the data source is a tree, the hierarchy format must be entered. See Overview of Tree Formats.
Target connection A connection of type PowerBI.
Mode
Create This mode is no longer supported (see note above). Users are advised to use "Insert" or "Update" modes, which allow modification of existing records in Power BI datasets without risk of deletion.
Update Any existing data will be cleared from the table, and new data is loaded. Note that the dataset and table must already exist.
Insert Data will be inserted into the table. Note that the dataset and table must already exist.
Dataset An Integrator dataset.
Table The target table to which the data will be loaded.

Note: All Date columns (with column types java.sql.Date, java.util.Date, java.sql.Timestamp) will be displayed in the format "yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm:ss" in Power BI. Columns with format java.sql.Time will be displayed in the format of "hh:mm:ss".
